Oxidative Stress in Goats with Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR)

Background: Goats in India are endangered by various disease outbreaks. A limited number of conditions goats have been investigated with regard to the effect oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is an active field research implicated numerous processes including sepsis, enteritis, pneumonia, mastitis, joint diseases etc. The present work was undertaken study contributing pathological changes naturally occurring Peste des petits ruminant virus (PPRV) Jabalpur region. Methods: total 30 positive PPR samples (19 plasma and 11 lung tissues) were processed for assessment markers malondialdehyde (MDA) glutathione (GSH). revealed among when compared 10 healthy animals. Necropsy examination conducted observed gross pathology tissues collected histopathological examination. Result: decreased GSH increased MDA concentration PPRV respectively. Nineteen different degree clinical signs devided into three groups viz group I mild, II moderate III severe. Grossly, eleven goat carcasses pneumonic lesions. Microscopically, sections broncho-interstitial pneumonia. These findings suggestive induces lead dehydration death goats.
